The research was designed as a retrospective analysis over a two-year period, comparing cycle times, failure rates, and cost implications before and after implementing Six Sigma practices. The study found that the implementation significantly lowered failure rates from 3% to less than 1%, leading to a decrease in costs related to reprocessing and replacement of contaminated instruments.
